1. How We Met
At an Igbo community event held in 2018, our paths crossed. We went on a few dates but ultimately lost touch. Fast forward to 2020, a year that brought unexpected twists and turns to everyone's lives. We found ourselves reconnecting, like long lost friends.
Amidst the challenges of 2020's lockdown, our first date brought a refreshing sense of normalcy and connection. Taking advantage of the limited options available, we opted for a two-hour walk through Greenwich. It was a simple yet meaningful choice, allowing us to enjoy each other's company while adhering to safety guidelines. As we strolled through the historic streets and iconic landmarks of Greenwich, conversation flowed naturally, and we discovered shared interests and perspectives. Despite the unusual circumstances, the date felt surprisingly normal, offering a much-needed break from the monotony of lockdown life. Looking back, We cherish those moments of connection and companionship during such a challenging time.
2. The Proposal
Whilst on holiday in Thailand, the first stop on the trip was bangkok. The day began with a check-in at the luxurious Lebua at State Tower, which overlooking the city.
Onyi had planned for a romantic evening, so as the sun began to set we made our way to a riverside restaurant, where we had a beautiful view of the Chao Phraya River. After indulging in the amazing Thai cuisine, we headed back to Lebua at State Tower to enjoy the renowned rooftop bar, 'Sky Bar.' The breath-taking views of Bangkok's skyline was a cherry on top of the cake.
Following a delightful time at the Sky Bar, Onyi excused himself, leaving Muko to absorb the mesmerizing cityscape. As she joined him back in their room, a surprise awaited her. The room had been transformed, filled with candlelight, rose petals, and balloons.
Onyi expressed his love in a heartfelt proposal. With the city of Bangkok as their silent witness, he asked, "Will you marry me?" Muko, overwhelmed with joy, and moved to tears, said "YES!", and the room seemed to hold its breath, celebrating the union of two hearts.
